Fencing Coaches

Our local coaches are all ex- or current National fencers, with top rankings and proven results.
  • Men’s Foil – Henry Koh, previously ranked 1st in Men’s Foil before retiring in early 2005, SEA Games 2003 double bronze medalist (individual and team) – the first individual medal winner in over 15 years.
  • Men’s Epee – Lim Wei Wen, currently ranked 1st and SEA Games 2007 silver medalist (individual).
  • Men’s Sabre – David Chan, currently ranked 1st.
  • Men’s Sabre – Mark Muthiah, currently ranked 2nd and SEA Games 2007 bronze medalist (individual).
  • Men’s Sabre – Ng Aik Phong, previously ranked 1st in Men’s Sabre before retiring in 1994, SEA Games bronze medalist (team).
  • Women’s Sabre – Juliana Seow, previously ranked 3rd and was 2nd in Fencing Singapore Challenge 2006.
Our foreign coaches are all ex- or current National fencers in their respective countries, with top rankings and proven results.
  • Nontapat Panchan (Thailand) – Multiple Thailand National Champion, Multiple SEA Games gold medalist (2001 – 2007); Multiple NCAA Fencing Champion (USA), Asian Fencing Championships Silver Medalist, Beijing Olympics qualifying winner, and Olympic fencer (2008); Also coached at New York’s largest fencing club for 2 years and trained full-time in Germany in preparation for Olympics for 1.5 years.
  • Alexandr Sim (Kazakhstan) – Ex-National Champion in Kazakhstan; Coach for 10 years and students include Kazakhstan National Junior team members.
  • Olga Antipova (Kazakhstan) – Ex-National Champion in Kazakhstan, top Kazakstan Women’s Foil fencer for many years, Beijing Olympics qualifying Top 8; Coach for 5 years and students include Kazakhstan National team members.
  • Yulia Khorvat (Russia) – Former national coach in Singapore; former students from Russia
    making Russian National team.
  • Alexander Novatorov (Russia) – Former national coach of Portugal, as well as previously a
    coach in the USSR; former students include USSR Champions, and Champions of Russia. His Russian students have been medal winners in the World Championships, and his Portugese harges are among some of the best in the world in the (one was 6th in the Junior World Championships, another was 6th in the European Championships and 2nd in the World Championships).
