Three Blade Club athletes represented Singapore at the World Fencing Championships held in Hong Kong, competing on the world’s biggest stage in the sport of fencing.
Our Athletes
The team consisted of three talented fencers who carried the Singapore flag and showcased their skills against the world’s best:
- Maxine Wong (Wong Maxine Jie Xin) — Women’s Foil Individual
- Kiria Tikanah (Abdul Rahman Kiria Tikanah) — Women’s Epee Individual
- Elle Koh (Koh Elle Meihui) — Women’s Epee Individual
Each fencer competed in their respective discipline, demonstrating the dedication and hard work that goes into representing their country on the international stage.
Competition Results
The following results were achieved by our Blade Club athletes at the World Fencing Championships:
Women’s Epee Individual

These results reflect the high level of competition at the World Championships, where fencers from around the globe compete for top positions. Our athletes demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and dedication throughout the event. Maxine was the best performing Singaporean Women’s Foilist, falling only to USA fencer Stutchbury and World #12 by a single touch 10-11 in the Top 64. Elle was the best performing Singaporean Women’s Epeeist, losing to Ukraine fencer Maksymenko and World #9 12-15. Kiria had a tremendous bout against Paris Olympics Silver medalist Mallo from France, but eventually lost 12-15.
A Proud Moment for Singapore Fencing
The World Fencing Championships is one of the most prestigious events in the sport, bringing together the world’s top fencers. For our athletes, competing at this level is a testament to years of training, discipline, and passion for fencing.
