The Blade Club fencers hit a major performance record in the Singapore Minimes held May 2024 by winning 8 out of the 11 events contested over two days, sweeping all the Gold medals in the Epee and Foil competitions. For the Sabre competitions, we achieved a Silver and multiple Bronzes as well. Overall, it was an amazing result for our young athletes! Kai and our other sabre boys and girls for their sterling performances in their respective Sabre events. Kai narrowly lost in the final by a single point for Silver.

The Blade Girls put in a dominant performance in the U10/U12 epee events. In the U12, the girls were able to sweep the Top 4, while each of the three girls for the U10 ended up in the Top 3. Yuquinn and Shayne earned their first ever medals in a nationally held competition, while Athena won the most number of individual medals coming away from this Minime with 2 Golds and 1 Silver across her 4 events!

Special shoutout to our Boys Epeeists and also Coach Kaixuan who defied the odds to win Gold and Bronzes in the U12 event. Samuel put in an inspiring performance (which we managed to stream live on instagram!) to win his first ever minime Gold; he was seeded 13th after poules and fought his way to the top, winning no less than 4 higher seeded opponents, three of them by just one point, to clinch victory after an amazing run! Jonas was also able to upseed his much higher seeded opponent to secure a respectable Top 16 finish while Kaiser and Ziqian performed admirably to earn well-deserved medals, under Coach Kaixuan’s piste-side coaching.

None of these results would have been possible without the support shown to us by the parents of our athletes. The coaches really appreciate your trust, and we will continue to work hard to help your children develop and grow to be excellent sportspeople with resilience, intelligence, and integrity.
