Five of our athletes and some of Singapore’s top fencers represented the country at the Asian Games 2023. Maxine Wong, Kieren Lock, and Jonathan Au Eong were our Foilists, each competing in the individual and team events. Elle Koh and Kiria Tikanah Abdul Rahman represented us in the Epee event, both also competing . The competition was held at tha Dianzi University Gymnasium.
The boys and girls fought valiantly in the individual and team events, but unfortunately none of the athletes or teams were able to come back with a medal. The women’s Foil team comprising Maxine and teammates Amita Berthier, Cheung Kemei, and Tay Yuling came closest to a team medal, while Kiria and Elle lost out to the eventual Champion and bronze medalist respectively.
