Blade Fencers have a great start to the season

Our Cadets and Juniors fenced well over the weekend for the first competitions of the season. Out of 12 events, our fencers got 4 Golds and 3 Silvers, and several Top 8 finishes with several of our athletes making their best ever performances in their respective disciplines.

Lemuel Huang earned himself his first Silver medal in the Cadets category, while 15-year old Azanius Nua defeated teammate Mika Wong in the Top 8 to make it all the way to the finals to also earn his first Silver medal in the Cadets category. Carol Lee posted her best ever Junior results; she showed great resilience and tenacity in beating two athletes who represented Singapore in the 2023 Asian Cadets and Juniors Championships to reach her first ever Juniors finals, where she eventually lost out to teammate Elle Koh.

Elle also showed her mettle and extended her winning streak by netting the Women’s Epee Golds for both Cadets and Juniors, as well as the Women’s Foil Golds for both Cadets and Juniors.

With very promising results from them and many of our other athletes, we hope that they can keep working hard and get a chance to represent Team Singapore for the 2023-2024 Cadets and Juniors Championships!
