Gold and Silver at the first Singapore Cadets for 2021-2022

In the first official national competition of the 2021-2022, Blade Club’s Elle Koh won the Cadets Women’s Epee event and also came in second in the Cadets Women’s Foil event.

In the Women’s Foil event held on Saturday, she topped the poule tables by with winning all of her 6 bouts, dropping only 8 touches. She then proceeded to defeat opponents ZHAO Olivia (15-4) and TANG Daniella (15-7) to reach the finals. She fought hard and made some excellent touches, before losing to top seed CHEUNG Kemei (9-15).

In the Women’s Epee event held on Sunday, Elle once again topped the poule tables by winning all of her 6 bouts convincing, and again only dropped 8 touches. She proceeded to defeat SEE TOH Nathlie (15-8), WONG SHI XUAN (15-4), the second seed CHOONG ZI CHENG (15-5), before emerging victorious against fourth seed KONING ONA (15-10) in the finals.

Her results represent an emphatic start to the season, placing her #1 in the current Singapore National Cadets ranking for Women’s Epee, and #2 in the the ranking for Women’s Foil! (Results as at 9 Nov 2021)
