Blade Club Singapore is proud to see two of its athletes, Kevin and Kiria, fly the Singapore flag as they head to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to compete for a spot in the Tokyo Olympic Games, due to be held in less than 100 days. Kevin and Kiria are two of the six total athletes that will have this opportunity, one for each of the weapon discplines: Men’s and Women’s Epee, Foil, and Sabre.

Kevin earned the spot by being the top ranked Singapore fencer in the Men’s Foil category by the national selection criteria. He has consistently been one of the top athletes in his weapon discipline for many years, and was most recently SEA Games Gold medalist (Men’s Foil Team) in 2019.

Kiria also earned her spot by being the top ranked Singapore fencer in the Women’s Epee category by the national selection criteria. Kiria has been 1st ranked Epeeist for many years, winning almost every national-level competition since 2019. She most recently did Singapore proud as the first Women’s Epeeist to win the Individual Gold medal at the SEA Games in 2019 in 24 years.

Blade Club Malaysia is also sending 3 other athletes for the same qualifiers:

Hans and Mayakarn are both fencers who trained with Coach Non in Blade Club Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and are representing Malaysia and Thailand respectively in Men’s Foil, while Joshua Koh is one of the coaches in Blade Club KL, who will represent Malaysia in Men’s Epee.

Good luck to all 5 Blade Club athletes!
